Non-profits are perhaps one of the most overlooked sources of event jobs, but these organizations hold many educational programs, seminars, conferences, workshops, fundraisers, retreats and more.

As of 2007, more than 1.64 million non-profit organizations existed in the U.S. alone, and that means a tremendous number of jobs exist for those wishing to pursue a career in meetings and events – opportunities from the administrative ranks through the executive director. Many great non-profit event jobs exist in Europe and other markets around the world.

Although the wages may seem to be lesser than similar roles in the for-profit and other sectors, the range of skills and experiences for the right fit tends to make up the difference. Those who organize meetings and events on behalf of a non-profit tend to wear many hats.
