Looking to find a great gift for a business traveler this year, or even yourself? We thought it would be helpful to find what we believe will get the most for the money this year. Although the price tag may seem a bit high, we believe this is an item that will ultimately pay for itself.
iPod nano With Built-In Video Camera
8GB US$149*
16GB US$179*
As new gadgets are coming out that offer video capabilities in the palm of our hand, I prefer to limit the number of business travel gadgets, whenever possible. For those who travel frequently for business – and there’s a tremendous amount of time being spent in the airport, on airplanes and even the little bit of downtime in the hotel – MP3 players and iPods have become popular business travel gadgets to fill the time.
The new iPod nano features an ultra-thin and sleek design with a larger 2.2-inch color display and gorgeous polished aluminum and glass enclosure. iPod nano also features a built-in FM radio with live pause and iTunes® Tagging, as well as a built-in pedometer. It comes in nine brilliant colors including silver, black, purple, blue, green, orange, yellow, (PRODUCT) red and pink.
iPod nano provides up to 24 hours of music playback or five hours of video playback on a single charge. The 8GB model holds up to 2,000 songs, 7,000 photos, eight hours of video and seven hours of captured video; and the 16GB model holds up to 4,000 songs, 14,000 photos, 16 hours of video and 14 hours of captured video.
Tip: Want to use the camera to create still frame photos? Convert videos into single images using iMovie which is standard on all Macs.
What Business Traveler Gift Are We Watching for 2010?
2009 was the year when most airlines either introduced new checked-baggage fees or increased existing airline luggage fees. As a result, most people have increased their use of carry-on luggage. However, checked-luggage is still a reality for many business travelers, and that’s why we have chosen the digital luggage scale as our runner up gift this year.
We’re planning to look at different digital luggage scales in 2010. We’d like something durable, compact, light weight, accurate, weighs up to 100 lbs and gives weight in both metric and American measurements. Send your comments and suggestions to us at editor@rhcommunications.com.
