In a video message shown at the presentation, the Spanish monarch noted that ’the colours and the new image continue to express the essence of the company and the country it represents. At the same time, he added, ‘they bring a more modern look and a freshness that lead us to view the future with even greater optimism.’ The king expressed his confidence that the new image, along “with the talent and the drive of the people who work at Iberia, surely marks the beginning of a new and brilliant period for the company.”

In remarks at the presentation, attended by some 300 people, including public officials, customers, business leaders, and journalists, Iberia chairman Antonio Vázquez said: ‘it is very gratifying that my last public act as Iberia’s chairman should be nothing less than the launch of our new corporate image, reflecting of the new Iberia, and the presentation of the aircraft bearing the name of His Majesty the King.’

Iberia’s CEO Luis Gallego, commented that ‘this relaunch of our brand expresses Iberia’s ongoing process of transformation and modernization, and is an investment in the future of the airline, in which it will be much closer to the customer, while continuing to be a pioneering force in the air travel business.

Iberia’s new image has been in evidence since Monday, 18 November, throughout the T4 complex, in the VIP lounges, at customer service points, and on all group publications, including the in-flight magazine Ronda, as well as on the new Iberia office building in Madrid.

Today Iberia ground staff and cabin crews are donning their new uniforms for the first time. The new logo and livery will be applied gradually to the entire company and fleet at all the airports served by the Spanish airline.

New cabins, new experiences

The A330 ‘Juan Carlos I’ came equipped from the factory with the new Tourist and Business class seating sections cabins that will soon distinguish the company’s entire long-haul fleet. The Business section features seats that unfold into flat beds nearly two metres long, situated in independent pods that substantially enlarge the personal space available to each passenger. Tourist class passengers are also treated to more legroom, as well as more ergonomic and comfortable seats.

Both sections feature highly intuitive, individual à la carte entertainment systems based on touch screens, with a huge variety of entertainment options in several languages.

Wi-Fi links will soon be available on long-haul Iberia flights, enabling passengers to get on line using their own devices. They will also be able to send and receive SMS texts through a ground-to-air GSM link.

Iberia’s makeover changes look and feel of websites

Iberia’s www.iberia.com, always a pioneer amongst airline websites, has been upgraded to make it much quicker and easier for users to find a flight, make a reservation, check in on line, and interact with Iberia in many other ways. Users can even customise the site to fit their own needs and interests.

The corporate website http://grupo.iberia.es has been beautified on the occasion of the launch of the new Iberia image. It is there that you can find whatever you need to know about Iberia, the latest news, business performance, history, the fleet, corporate social responsibility policies, and much more.
