Honolulu, HI — The Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau (HVCB) and the Singapore Exhibition and Convention Bureau (SECB) have formed a new three-year alliance. They are working to expand their focus on global meetings and the association market.
The partnership, announced during IMEX America 2025 in Las Vegas, is designed to position both Hawaii and Singapore as preferred destinations for U.S. and Asia-based associations planning meetings, conventions and incentive programs.

Dr. Aaron J. Salā, president and CEO of HVCB, noted that the partnership brings the two destinations together strategically. He explained that Hawaii and Singapore share complementary strengths. Hawaii’s appeal is its hospitality and location as a North American gateway. Singapore is known for its leadership in sustainability, digital solutions and technology for the global meetings sector.
Eileen Lee, senior vice president for the Americas at SECB, echoed this direction. She said the collaboration creates new pathways for associations looking to expand internationally, connecting Asia and the Pacific with North America. Both organizations emphasize that partnership will deliver more value and long-term impact for meeting planners and the associations they serve.
What the alliance covers
The three-year agreement began in October 2025, and focuses on several shared objectives:
-
Positioning Hawaii and Singapore as gateway hubs for U.S. and Asia-based association meetings.
-
Building joint marketing, education, and industry outreach to highlight the impact and value of association meetings.
-
Facilitating introductions for association clients planning future bids and programs in the two regions.
Meet Hawaii’s global strategy
The alliance supports Meet Hawai‘i, the brand representing the Hawaiian Islands as a destination for business meetings, conventions and incentives. The initiative is part of a broader effort to expand global reach and engage planners seeking international-quality meeting destinations with strong connectivity to Asia and North America.
