LONDON – Hilton London Metropole, one of the largest conference hotels in Europe, continues to lead the way in the meetings and events market, with the introduction of its new Bento Box concept. A flexible and original dining option, the Bento Box Delegate Menu provides an innovative choice for those looking to inject colour, vibrancy and a touch of the exotic to their meetings.

Traditionally a Japanese concept, the new Bento Box menu at Hilton London Metropole offers an inspired re-invention of the Asian classic, incorporating a range of cuisines to cater to all tastes. Delegates can choose from a selection of seven menus, including Asian, French, Thai, Italian and Mediterranean flavours, with each box containing a main, selection of sides and a dessert.

Examples from the Bento Box Delegate Menu include:

  • Tempura sea bass with pak choi noodles, diced charcuterie salad, tomato bocconcini salad and pear financier with a red wine pear compote
  • Grilled lamb skewers with a potato and mushroom ragout, smoked salmon roulade, grilled asparagus and lemon cheesecake with a mixed berry compote
  • Beef stroganoff with cayenne pepper pilaff rice, prawn and papaya salad, Greek salad and vanilla and cardamom panna cotta with a strawberry compote

The term ‘bento’, which originates from China, translates to mean ‘convenience’. With its single-portion, multi-course design, the Bento Box menu combines elegance with ease for a unique catering experience. Priced at £20 per head, it is also suitable for small or large scale meetings and budgets alike.

Avner On, general manager at Hilton London Metropole, said, “Hilton London Metropole continues to set a precedent for the meetings and conference market. Alongside the ongoing refurbishment of our events facilities, the new Bento Box Delegate Menu offers something exciting and unique for delegates and event organisers, which we believe will enhance overall guest experience.”

Having recently undergone a £750,000 full refurbishment of the conference facilities, Hilton London Metropole has seventeen meeting rooms, a business centre and breakout area – all with the latest audio visual technology. The meeting room refurbishment incorporates contemporary and light design, with stylish yet functional soft furnishings, ideal for a constructive working environment.

The hotel is ideally located for functions and events, with convenient transport links across London and just a 10-minute walk from London’s West End. Accessible in 20 minutes from Heathrow Airport via the Heathrow Express at Paddington Station, the hotel also benefits from being situated outside of the congestion charge zone.
