The Green Meetings Industry Council (GMIC) 2010 Sustainable Meetings Conference is a two day conference (February 20-23) with an additional preconference day for a future leaders forum and leaders track. The program is held at the Doubletree Hotel in Portland.
The GMIC 2010 Sustainable Meetings Conference is geared to help meeting and event professionals take their green meetings strategies to the next level whether they are an experienced green meetings professional or a planner looking to implement the changes necessary to begin the process of delivering green meetings.
Conference topics include green audio/visual, destinations, facilities, food and beverage, offsets, exhibitions, marketing and communications, transportation, onsite office, learning design, and return on investment and the future of green meetings.
Regardless of skill level, all meeting and event industry professionals will gain insight into new developments, techniques, and learn best practices on integrating green meeting strategies into their upcoming meetings and events.
The 2011 Sustainable Meetings Conference also offers a Leaders Track for those who qualify, including demonstrated experience (at least two years) and familiarity with broad aspects of sustainable event management, such as waste management, energy and water use, procurement, carbon offsetting, etc.
The 2011 Sustainable Meetings Conference is being held with green principles in mind, including a reduction in the conference carbon footprint and offset those emissions that cannot be avoided.
