The ShardEvent management company Crown share their favourite new London venues, all offering something a little different, whether it is gastronomically cutting-edge cuisine or a jaw-dropping location.

These include the ME hotel on The Strand. Like many other architectural feats for which Lord Norman Foster is venerated, such as the Gherkin, or the Millennium Bridge, ME has positioned itself at the discerning, razor-sharp side of the market. Designed by Foster & Partners, founded by Lord Foster, the hotel features 157 rooms, of which 16 are suites.

Their restaurant, STK London is to offer a unique dining experience and roof-top bar Radio serves up panoramic views of central London. Six flexible meeting rooms, which can also be presented as one large function space, can cater for between 10 and 300 delegates.

Meanwhile, SUSHISAMBA, up on the 38th and 39th floors of Heron Tower, offers a mélange of Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian food and culture, in a restaurant designed by award-winning architects Cetra Ruddy.

The Shangri-La at the Shard has everyone here eagerly awaiting its opening, which is due in February. Set in the spire of the Shard, it aspires to replicate the unique customer service of its other offerings and will comprise 185 deluxe guest rooms. Their speciality restaurant aims to compete with London’s best. The meeting spaces in their Business Centre will accommodate 110 seated delegates with a range of secretarial support services available.

Just around the corner on Bermondsey Street, Delfina is a refreshing breath of air. Based in a converted chocolate factory, the gallery offers a blank canvas which can be customised for a wide range of events. The restaurant serves contemporary British cuisine, with a heavy emphasis on seasonal, organic, fair trade and sustainable foods.

Much-loved Hawksmoor have just opened their doors in Air Street. The British steakhouse and cocktail bar prides itself on using British beef to high acclaim. Their Guildhall restaurant can accommodate parties of 22 in the Private Dining Room or up to 160 in a larger space. At Spitalfields, they can host private dining events for 30 to 40 people. Their basement bar is available for private hire for groups of 65.

Our dark horse for client drinks is the Artesian Bar at the Langham Hotel, which was voted to have the ‘World’s Best Cocktail Menu 2011.’
