CHICAGO (May 7) – The Association education stream delivered at AIBTM (www.aibtm.com) will kick off on June 11 (AIBTM’s official Education Day) at 9:30am with a session dedicated to helping attendees understand the North American meetings buyers, which will take place in room W194 at McCormick Place.
The session, produced by the International Convention and Congress Association (ICCA), will feature a panel of U.S. meeting planners and ICCA members who will share their experiences working in the North American market. The session will also offer useful tips on how meetings industry suppliers should promote their brands to North American meetings buyers.
Following the panel, a variety of topics ranging from buyer psychology to preferred ways of working with U.S. meeting planners will be covered during the roundtable discussions. These breakouts will give meetings industry suppliers the opportunity to ask valuable questions that will help them prepare for the business opportunities available on the show floor over the two remaining days.
“It is really important that we deliver education and insight for our attendees which will genuinely add value to their experience,” said Erica Keogan, Reed Travel Exhibitions, Education Content Manager. “This interactive best practice and knowledge exchange session will help meeting suppliers boost their ability to become more successful in what is already an extremely competitive market.”
ICCA is also hosting a session called “Going Global – Answers to North American Planners’ Toughest Questions.” This session, which will begin at 2:00pm, also highlights an interactive format with round-table discussions between North American planners and international suppliers.
“ICCA and its members have special expertise in the international association congress sector, and this session is dedicated to sharing that valuable insight and information,” said Martin Sirk, CEO of ICCA. “We’ll be covering where to find the most accurate information; how to set up successful partnerships; cultural do’s and don’ts; how best to communicate your meeting needs and objectives; security and risk management; and any other burning questions and concerns that you have relating to your future international meetings programs and strategies.”
