NEW ORLEANS, Aug. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Friends of the Cabildo, support organization for the Louisiana State Museum, will host the 28th Annual Ghostly Galavant Weekend Fundraisers, October 25-26 and 31. The three-day event offers Ghostly Galavant Tours, Saturday and Sunday, October 25-26 and Ghostly Galavant Eat, Drink and Be Scary Costume Party, Halloween, Friday October 31.
Ghostly Galavant Tours, October 25-26 will depart every 30 minutes from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., each day from The 1850 House Museum Store on Historic Jackson Square. The Friends' knowledgeable guides will lead guests to homes and courtyards throughout the French Quarter to meet the region's most important and infamous former inhabitants, like Louisiana Governor Earl Long, voodoo priestess Marie Laveau, the Baroness Michaela Pontalba and other intriguing characters from our interesting past. No two ghosts will appear on the same day of the route. Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for students and children are free.
Ghostly Galavant Eat, Drink and Be Scary Costume Party, October 31, All Hallows' Eve from 6:30 until 9:00 p.m., will invite partygoers to The Cabildo, where actual ghosts do indeed roam the halls at night! A frightfully good time will be on tap with fantastic food from great French Quarter restaurants, beer and wine and exciting live entertainment. Plus, some notable VIPs from the past – as far back as 1795! Guest are encouraged, but not required, to dress in costume and get in the Halloween spirit. Tickets are $40 dollars in advance and $50 dollars at the door.
