CALABASAS, Calif., Jan. 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- CheapAir.com today announced a new service that introduces each and every customer to a real, in-house travel advisor who can assist with itinerary changes, rental cars and hotels, travel mishaps, questions and much more. Since testing began in April, the service has surprised a lot of travelers accustomed to automated call lines, clumsy voice recognition and outsourced customer service agents who can never, ever be reached again.
"We've always strived to make travel planning as easy and stress-free as possible," said Jeff Klee, CEO of CheapAir. "However, we've noticed customer service in the travel industry becoming less human and less accessible. So we decided to take a stand. By matching customers with personal travel advisors, we've built a level of accessibility and personal service that people can't get elsewhere."
After customers purchase a flight, hotel, or car through CheapAir.com or 1-800-CHEAP-AIR, they will receive an email with their travel advisor's name, email address and direct phone line. At any point before, during or after a trip, the travel advisors are available to help. They can also assist with future travel planning.
"People are shocked when they call and the person on the other end of the line is actually their advisor from the email," said Terry Robin, Vice President of Call Center Operations at CheapAir.com. "Instead of an automated call line, CheapAir customers get an actual human being who cares."
CheapAir travel advisors are trained to help with a wide variety of issues. Whether travelers want to switch seats, change flights or just find out about baggage fees, CheapAir advisors can help. This added level of service can be particularly useful in the event of bad weather, flight cancellations, or other delays or disruptions which would otherwise leave travelers to fend for themselves.
