London was named one of the world’s top hotels destinations today in the 2014 Travellers’ Choice® Awards.
TripAdvisor awarded 22 hotels in the capital across five categories ensuring London outperformed New York, Rome and Barcelona combined.
The news comes in the wake of record breaking tourism figures for the capital. The figures released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) for July-September 2013 show that a record 4.9 million people visited the city. For the first nine months of 2013 London welcomed 12.8 million visitors, an increase of 12 per cent compared to 2012.
The Milestone Hotel in Kensington was named the UK’s top hotel and 15th best in the world. London scooped the awards in the categories for Top Hotels, Family, Luxury, Romance and Small Hotels.
