A recognized name in skin care, the Guerlain philosophy is to create a customized experience that is unique to each guest. The focus at Guerlain Spa New Orleans, according to spa director Debra Oakley, is to take a very personalized approach for each guest. So, each treatment begins with an analysis of your individual concerns and services are tailored to your needs.

And as business travelers know, it’s important to schedule time for treatments when on the road to help maximize overall productivity for what usually ends up being a challenging 18 hour day of meetings.

In New Orleans, the Guerlain Spa is one of three hotels (currently) with spas — and it’s popular for weddings and other special events. Facilities and services include:

  • 10 treatment rooms
  • A couples therapy suite
  • VIP treatment room (for ultimate guest privacy)
  • Hydrotherapy facilities
  • Full-service salon
  • Makeup services
  • Massages
  • Facials
  • Specialty therapies
  • Hand and foot therapies

On my visit, I scheduled two treatments: a hydrotherapy treatment followed by a 50 minute Swedish massage. The 5-senses hydrotherapy experience is a great first treatment. Sequentially controlled jets soothes the whole body. After this, the massage was so relaxing that I was able to briefly fall asleep during the Swedish massage.

Guerlain was founded in 1828, when in Paris by Pierre-Francois-Pascal Guerlain opened his first boutique in Paris (focused on skincare and make-up). Today, Guerlain has spas and institutes located around the world, including three in the U.S. — New Orleans, New York and Palm Beach (FL).
