Editor’s note: I had an opportunity to view Four Seasons Orlando in a hard hat tour in June 2014. Located in a gated community the hotel’s palm tree-lined drive leads you to a grand entrance. Once you’re inside you’ll find unique lighting fixtures and chandeliers in every space. The hotel’s also located on a lake, so that will offer some nice outdoor special event spaces. Capa — a Spanish restaurant — will be located on the top floor, and its terrace provides a spectacular 180 degree view. — Rob Hard

Opening August 3, 2014, the Four Seasons is the newest business hotel you’ll find in Orlando.

It will have 37,750 square feet (3,508 square metres) of meeting and event space in a lakeside setting. With eight meeting rooms plus two event lawns, two ballrooms and numerous outdoor terraces, options abound for innovative meetings and events.

“From grand events to intimate meetings,Four Seasons Resort Orlando is a perfect venue for groups of all sizes,” says Brian Plott, Director of Sales. “In addition to our new, spectacular venue, attendees love our signature Four Seasons service and amazing cuisine, plus all the amenities our Resort has to offer.”

The meeting and event space is located on the south end of the Resort, situated away from the bustling resort activities. Distraction free, the event area offers its own arrival space, complemented by two outdoor terraces of 5,000 to 7,000 square feet (465-650 square metres) for events under starlight or sunshine.

Lobby Level

The Grand Ballroom is located on the lobby level, and it’s stunning. The elegance and innovation will be sure to amaze and impress. Geometric crystal chandeliers and a recessed coffered 21 foot (6.4 metre) ceiling create a grand impression, while state-of-the-art technology is seamlessly integrated into the design.

The expansive 14,000 square feet (1,300 square metres) of meeting space can be divided into three separate areas to fit the needs of any program or event. Floor-to-ceiling arched windows on both sides of the ballroom bring an abundance of bright Florida sunshine into the room, yet when needed, the room’s darkening shades provide the right lighting for effective presentations.

The outdoor terraces allow for a change of scenery for a reception, meal or break. The 1,472 square foot (137 square metre) Winter Garden foyer includes a glass atrium ceiling, stunning royal palm trees, and an intricately tiled water feature.

Palm Level

A second ballroom, the Palm Ballroom on the first floor, offers immediate access to the Lady Palm Lawn and King Meadow Lawn, ideal for meetings and events that would like to feature an outdoor component on the lush lawns. Offering 6,200 square feet (576 square metres) of meeting and event space, the Palm Ballroom features 16 foot (4.9 metre) ceilings and abundant natural light.

Eight distraction-free meeting rooms are offered on the Palm Level, five of which have outdoor terraces with a tranquil view of the lake.

For smaller meetings and events of up to 20 people, Lakeside East and Lakeside West are private, free-standing buildings situated right on the lake. The perfect setting for a quaint celebration, each of the two rooms offers 400 square feet (37 square metres) of space, arched windows overlooking a lakefront terrace complete with a fireplace, and views of the lush grounds.

Cuisine

While the venue is a crucial component of creating a memorable occasion, the dining options can set an event apart from the rest. The Resort’s team of culinary experts, led by Executive Chef Fabrizio Schenardi, has designed banquet menus that can satisfy even the most discerning of palates. Hailing from Italy, Schenardi prides himself on his authentic Italian cooking, with Mediterranean dishes full of flavour.

With five on-property restaurants, dine-around options give attendees the ability experience something different. At Capa, the Resort’s rooftop Spanish steakhouse, two private dining rooms are available, a perfect opportunity to host a special breakfast or dinner for a select group up to 35 in each room. Capa is also available for complete buyouts for breakfast and lunch banquet events.

At Ravello, attendees can enjoy a great team-building exercise at the test kitchen, where an array of cooking classes can be scheduled for a fun and informative break or event. Seating in the private test kitchen can accommodate up to 18. Ravello also boasts two private dining rooms for groups of 12 to 15. At Plancha, a Cuban American-inspired restaurant, a private event room can accommodate 125 guests on a lakeside setting by the golf club house.
