Catering directors oversee the catering operation, including booking, selecting and pricing menu items, hiring permanent and temporary help, acquiring rental equipment and supervising staff, according to Salary.com. They work closely with clients and oversee food and beverage for their events.

Catering directors typically have at least 4-6 years of experience and an associate’s or bachelor’s degree. Average salary tends to be between $43,000 – $75,000.
