Consider Vacation Packages and Last Minute Deals for Best Pricing on Business Travel
Perhaps you're deciding to attend an industry conference or trade show just weeks prior to the event, or maybe you need to travel out of town to visit a client. One of the best ways for business travelers -- especially small business executives -- to save money when scheduling corporate travel on short notice may be by taking advantage of vacation packages available through an online booking engine. Whether you're hoping to find a great packaged price on a specific hotel or if you have flexibility, you're likely to save with vacation packages.
For example, I've been watching the rates for air fare and hotels for an upcoming business trip to Vegas and noticed the expected trend of increasing air fare and hotel room costs as dates have become closer. So I thought maybe it would be worth testing prices at this time if I had less than 7 days notice. First, I searched a major airline's own website for its best pricing available to this destination. I compared this to pricing for vacation packages found on my Travelocity booking engine, which priced the same flights with three nights at a four star Vegas hotel on the Strip for about $25 additional (a five star hotel on the Strip was only about $75 more for the stay). And many three star hotels were priced less than the major airline's best air fare price.
Of course, this will not always be the case, but it's definitely a good argument for searching vacation packages or last minute deals for personal or business needs to any travel destination. Find vacation packages.
