Business Travelers: Consider These Destinations for Your Summer Travel

Summer travel is the most popular time for personal vacations, and business travelers are likely to find themselves consider some of the most popular travel destinations in the U.S. or internationally. Where are you considering?

Well, if you’re like most people, places like Orlando, Las Vegas, London, Paris and Cancun are probably on the list. Each year, the American Society of Travel Agents identifies the top destinations for summer travel.

“Although the top destinations have remained relatively unchanged for many years, it’s interesting to see some fresh destinations, both domestic and international, appear on the scene,” said Chris Russo, ASTA president and chair. “Regardless of whether a destination is a perennial favorite or a soon-to-be favorite, working with a professional travel consultant to plan your next vacation ensures you will get a great value and an unforgettable experience.”

The good news is that travel booking, in general, was up in the first quarter 2010, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal (WSJ). “Hotels, airlines and cruise ship operators are reporting better demand, translating into increased bookings and higher revenue from depressed levels a year ago,” the WSJ reported.

This is an excellent time for travel because room rates are still down. However, airline rates are likely to increase because many airlines have implemented rate actions that leverage the increase in business travel as capacity is decreasing.
